Abortion in Quezon City, Metro Manila
Mifepristone alone did it
The following reflection is rather short and seemingly not so different from previous stories in this blog. What makes it stand out however is the fact that the patient has completed her procedure by just taking Mifepristone.
The patient expelled her POC (Products of Conception) on day 2 of the procedure, even before the intake of Misoprostol. This only happens to about less than 5% of patients but when it does happen it lends support to the fact that Mifepristone is indeed the abortion pill itself and that taking it is the most important part of the procedure. We urge women in the Philippines and all over the world — DO NOT settle for less. Whatever you do, don’t do it WITHOUT Mifepristone. It is Mifepristone that makes the procedure safe, efficient and effective.
Sending my long overdue reflection for my MA last September. I’ve finally
gotten the time to write down and reflect on the post event.
Best regards,

Genuine Medicine + Genuine Support
I’m a working student and even though I am already earning, I only earn
enough to support myself. I didn’t plan to have a child anytime soon so it
was relieving to find Project 486 and the help they provided.
Sir John informed me with everything to do. He was accommodating and very
helpful to all my queries and needs.
Day 1 of the procedure was okay. The instructions were easy to follow and
everything was manageable. I started bleeding on the night of day 1 and it
went on until day 2. Unlike the usual MA procedures, mine was over by day 2
which was unexpected. All throughout the experience, Sir John was there and
was reminding me of all the scheduled times I had to take the medicine.
Equals Early Success
When day 2 happened, I had a heavy flow all throughout the day and was
making sure I didn’t move much. After a couple of hours, the POC came out
of me by night time on day 2. The procedure was successful and effective on me.
A huge wave of relief came to me when Sir John finally confirmed that I am
no longer pregnant. The procedure was done and over. After the passing of
the POC, I still had some bleeding for quite some time but I was assured
that everything was normal and I was okay. Overall, I have much gratitude
to Project 486 because without their guidance, I would not know what to do.
I wish Project 486 the best and I hope they continue to help women in the
country. Thank you again Alex and John. You have provided new chances to women.
