La Union Abortion Pills: We though it was successful, we were wrong, now it’s already 5 months…(entry # 249)

Hello everyone, I am a second year college student dito sa La Union. My girlfriend and I are close to each other’s parents and family, in short, legal kami. Even joining family trips etc. and suddenly we decided to stay in an apartment together (without our parents knowing it). We were very happy of course, however, that decision lead us to one of our major or biggest problem that we could ever encounter in our lives.

Long story short, 2 months after we found out she was pregnant. We were very terrified, and as the boyfriend, I sought help. One friend of mine recommended me to a “seller” and because her cousin had a successful abortion through the pills they brought through that seller, I brought one too. She was already around 3 months pregnant at this point, she took the pills and after that she was bleeding for 3 days (light bleeding). I did some research and it said that it is recommended to take the pregnancy test 2 weeks after the abortion to make sure that there is no more pregnancy hormones. We forgot to take the pregnancy test though, we assumed it was successful because her stomach was already decreasing in size.

Fast forward, it is around 4 months later, she still hasn’t got her period and that is when we decided to take pregnancy test. It came out positive, we were panicking already. The fetus in her belly is starting to show movements, her stomach is getting bigger, and all of the pregnant signs showed.

Honestly, since I am still a student, I chose that specific seller among the other sellers because it was cheaper. Please do not make the same mistake, wag niyong tipirin ito. Specially when your girlfriend’s life may get in danger because of it. Make sure that it is trusted and safe, and please make sure to make a research still. Choose to be wise at this point. Anyway back to our story.

Again, I asked every connection that I have, and there we discovered this project, dr, and alex. We were hesitant at first, but through the dr that was assigned to us. We were assured, the dr even gave us a lecture, for being irresponsible and kung bakit pa namin pinatagal ng ganto.

Fast forward again, just as the dr told us to, we got an ultrasound. It was my first time going to the hospital without my parents. We were scared, but we needed to be tough. When we got the ultrasound, my plans changed. It was surprising that I felt happy when I saw the ultrasound. That is when I decided to talk to my gf that I wanted to keep it. However she declined, saying that this is for our future, and the fear that the cild may have some imperfections due to the failed abortion that we experienced. So we both made the decision to continue the abortion.

We planned everything and we got the pills. The dr fully guided us the ENTIRE process, I cant say much but be grateful right now. I suffered so much stress and anxiety was getting so high that I cant even concentrate on basic things, just imagine how my gf felt, I bet it was even worst for her.

It was a roller coaster of an emotion, specially during the process. When 3rd day came, I couldn’t sleep, I was constantly checking her. It is already morning and the poc still isnt going out. Anxiety kicks again, we were worrying that it might not came out, plus my money isnt enough for an another stay at the hotel. However, it came out 3 hours before our check out at the hotel. At that time, I cried, when I saw it, I instantly regret my decision. It was successful, but I didn’t know if I should be grateful or grief at the moment. But it is what it is, right now, we are just so grateful for dr and for everyone who is in the team.

For the last time, please be wise on your decisions when you get to this point. If money is tight, make it happen, wag niyo sanang tipirim especially when it comes to the health of the mother and the baby (if abortion fails bec of fake meds) .

Thank you,

Mark, La Union
