I’d like to give details on the process itself and how Project 486 attended me during the procedure (medical abortion) .

I expected my period last August 15, 2017 but it did not arrive. My period sometimes is one week delayed but definitely takes place every month. It was August 25, 2017 when I had an initiative to take PT and I tested positive.

Herbal options didn’t work

August 25-Sept2 : I induced miscarriage through herbal options. Combination of Vitamin C, Parsley infusion and inserts, Dong Quai tablets. I only had brown discharge and tolerable abdominal cramps those days. It was unsuccessful.

Sept 2 : I inquired with Project 486 through email. The people behind this project immediately attended my queries and gave ample of time to discuss several things to know about the procedure.

Sept 4 : I paid for the meds.

Sept 6 : The meds arrived.

Sept 8 : I started the procedure by doing low folate diet.

6:00 am : I had Quaker oats regular oatmeal. 1/2 cup and I wasn’t able to finish it.

10:00 am : One apple (tennis ball size)

5:00 pm : Mashed potato, one scoop. No condiments like gravy.

In between those meals, I made sure to hydrate myself with lots of water. (not too cold)

6:00 pm – 11:59 pm : FASTING

12:00 am – Took MIFE (mifepristone). I waited for 30 mins and there was no unusual effect to me. I did not feel dizzy neither urge to vomit. I had a good sleep.

Sept 9 : Low folate diet day

7:30 am : I had Quaker oats regular oatmeal. (Same measurement, did not finish it as well) Had 1/2 apple.

12:00 pm : Mashed potato, one scoop. No condiments like gravy.

4:00 pm : One apple (tennis ball size)

8:00 pm : Mashed potato, one scoop. No condiments like gravy.

 

Tolerable pain

During this day, I checked in at a hotel along with my companion. The procedure must be done without any interruptions. I took an afternoon nap to relax. Again, I made sure to get myself hydrated. My tip is during the last minutes of diet, drink lots of water so you can avoid getting thirsty during fasting.

Sept 10 : Miso day

5:30 am : Urinated and took a hot bath.

6:00 am : Vaginal miso (misoprostol) . My companion did this procedure. We followed the instruction sent by Sir John via text and also made reference to Sir Alex attachments on email. After 30 mins, I did feel few abdominal cramps but tolerable. I put the hot compress on my tummy so the pain won’t aggravate.

10:00 am : Buccal miso for 90 mins the swallowed the tabs without water. I started to feel lower back pain more than abdominal cramps. Each hour passed, the pain aggravated but I have high pain tolerance. I did not take any pain relievers and just allowed the pain to be felt by my body.

2:00 pm : My lower back was aching and this time, I’m allowed to sit and stand to change my diapers. When I went to the bathroom to change, I saw my plastic ball (gestational sac) followed by big mass blood clots and a pinkish, circle shaped mass. I made a documentation and sent it via email to Sir Alex. Sir John texted me not to take the last buccal miso tabs yet and affirmed when I asked if I can drink water. I stopped low folate diet as I was allowed to eat rice meal with still few food restrictions.

3:30 pm : I was declared OFFICIALLY NOT PREGNANT by the team.

I’d like to thank Project 486 for staying with me during the procedure. They attended every query, especially my consultant, no matter how absurd my queries were. The team was very hands on and absolutely reliable.
